THE VERGE
From 1999 to 2002 I was in my first real full band playing guitar, we were called THE VERGE. I was still working with Christian White on Vocals from my CHROE days out of college. Added to the mix was Chris Nicini whom I had been working with doing the Doors Tribute band THE UNKNOWN SOLDIERS. Chris played keys and bass just like he did in the Doors show, it really added a psychedelic edge that we really wanted. The newcomer to the mix was Mark Wilcox on drums. Chris and I met Mark working in the Sports TV Industry and we initially needed him to help out with the Doors Tribute Band but soon found him fleshing out all the new original songs we were writing…..this led to the formation of THE VERGE. When the band was originally conceived we had two lead singers, something rarely seen. We brought in our friend Christopher Medeiros who was our “Jim Morrison” in the Doors Tribute Show I played in. Christian and Christopher played off one another very well, however after Christopher’s sudden move to the west coast we decided to stay with one lead singer, Christian White. Below are a number of photos, concert recordings, studio recordings, demos and videos chronicling our musical career.
A whiff of incense, the hum of amps, a red light pierces the darkness…The Verge has taken the stage. With a sound that’s been described as “totally original and yet comfortably familiar,” these four young men stand several levels above their contemporaries. But why read about what can’t be described? Make the scene, experience The Verge and discover for yourself.
